Sunset Knights Crush Queens!
Our team won First Place Reserve section this Saturday at PS 150q in Long Island City. Three of our players finished with perfect 4-0 scores. Jeremy Zhang tied for First Place in the Reserve Section, David Zhang won First Place (for the second time in a row) in the Novice Section, and 2nd grader Elias Mendez tied for 1st Place in the NRB section. Our NRB (Non-Rated Beginners) won First Place as a team demonstrating that all the hard work of our newest and youngest members is beginning to pay off.
Last but not least, our Rookie and Novice teams both won Second Place.
Here Miguel Hernandez demonstrates a perfect "Fried Liver Attack". This attacking strategy comes quick and is over before you can finish your bag of skittles!

The Sunset Knights at Temple Emanu-El
Six of our Knights played at the 2nd Annual Emanu-El tournament hosted at Temple Emanu-El off Central Park East. This tournament was only open to players rated over 1100 and featured a slower version of the normal weekend tournament game. Our kids played hard in the relaxed and quiet playing hall and enjoyed the free lunch and plentiful snacks generously provided by the temple's community. Congrats to medal winners Jeremy Zhang and Jomin Zhang.

The Sunset Knights take Manhattan!
The Sunset Knights tied for 1st Place with 160k (novice section) at today's tournament in Chelsea. We also won second place in the Reserve section missing a first place tie with IS 318 by just a half-point. There were many exciting, last round games between our current players and alumni Knights! A special congratulations to David Zhang who was awarded 1st Place as an individual in the Novice section with a perfect 4-0 score.
